　 相間轉移催化反應在化學合成的領域中為一廣泛使用之合成方法，現
今不僅限於實驗室之研究開發階段，並且已實際應用於工業生產上。而在
各種相轉移觸媒當中四級銨鹽又屬於較經濟的一種，這類觸媒主要作用是
在兩相反應系統中扮演傳遞反應物與產物的角色。一般而言，此種反應同
時受到兩相間質傳速率與反應速率的影響，本研究之目的就是要探討在四
級銨鹽催化下鄰－苯二胺與二硫化碳的反應情形。而此反應主要是欲合成
２－硫醇基苯并咪唑──一種橡膠用抗氧化劑，實驗當中藉由反應速率與
產物產率之探討來了解一些反應條件對反應結果的影響。　　相間轉移催
化反應涉及到合成、動力學、質量傳送、及熱力學之平衡問題，範圍涵蓋
化學及化工之重要領域。然而，以往之研究成果大都偏重於合成與反應機
構方面的探討，至於反應動力學及兩相間之質傳則較少有人深入研究。不
過近年來由於部分致力於質量傳送探討之化工專業人員對這方面亦投入不
少心力，因此對於涉及兩互不相溶反應物之化學反應機構及觸媒在兩相間
之分布與質傳現象已逐漸被瞭解進而能夠掌握其動態行為。

Phase transfer catalysis(PTC) is a method wildly used in
organic synthesis. Among the catalysts us- ed,quaternary
ammonium salts were usually the can- didates.In this context,we'
ll explore the synthes- is of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole through
the reaction of o-phenylenediamine and carbon disulfide promot-
ed by quaternary ammonium salt in the two-phase s- ystem.We'll
discuss the effects of some important variables such as
agitating speed,type of solvent and concentration of base,etc..
