In recent years due to the economic growth and our government''s attemp to have Taiwan replace Hong Kong as a major aviation hub in Asia caused increse in demand form the industry. Both the international and domastic airport have now reached their full capacities, therefore we will need not only to expand our facilities but to improve their efficiency to meet the future challenge hopefully it would help our current government budget situation. The purpose of this study is to build a model and analyze the gate assignment system in the airport using CKS international airport as an example. Four heuristic methods were obserned and studied. Gate assignment will be set according to: 1. number of passenger in the airplane 2. transit time for the airplane 3. arriving time for the airplane 4. smallest elapse time between airplanes for the same gate Data from CKS international airport were colleoted from November 22nd through 28nd, 1993 using Spline Regression to build three subsystem model. Futhermore used the SLAMII (Simulation Language for Anternative Modeling II) to develop gate assignment.
