The thesis proposes a scheme of FUZZY-PID control to solve the problem of constant speed operation for the diesel prime- mover. The speed of the prime-mover can be kept with minimum amounts of over-shoot and settling time in the circumstances of start up and disturbance.Simulated results show that the props- ed FUZZY-PID controller is superior to the traditional PI con- troller in the convenience of design process and the performace of speed-following. Further,the proposed control scheme is able to accomodate practical ranges of speed and droop setting and the parameter variations due to aging as well as fuel temper- atures.
