This research is made on the Taiwan man-made filament woven
fabric manufacturers to investigate the relationship between
its competitive advantages and performance. This research
proceeds in questionnaire investigation of the key success
factors of in- dustry and study of performance index. This
research selects the top 5 key success factors -- control of:
1. material source 2. product quality 3. technology talent and
technology 4. production cost 5. research development and
innovative level, and top 3 performance indices -- 1.profit
margin 2. profitablity growth rate 3. rate of return of invest-
ment, as the basis of studying on variable items, then proceeds
in questionnaire with the manufacturers to collect related
data. Among the manufacturers of this industry, through
statistic analysis and actual examination, the results can be
concluded as belows: 1. The ones with stronger material control
ability tend to pos- sess better performance in its
profitability growth rate. 2. The ones with stronger product
quality control ability tend to possess better performance in
its profit margin, profit- ability growth rate and rate of
return on investment. 3. The ones with stronger technical
talents and technical con- trol, research development and
innovation abilities tend to possess better performance in its
profit margin and rate of return on investment. 4. The ones
with stronger production cost control ability tend to possess
better performance in its profit margin. In view of the
empirical results of this research, there is a definitive level
of right variation relationship between the competitive
advantages and its performance of the Taiwan men-made filament
woven fabric manufacturers.
