This research try to use sintering with high temperature to solve the problem of great amount of mercury contained sludge. the directions of this research include the effects of pelliti- zative pressure、sintering temperature and time that affect the physicochemical characteristic of the sample and monitor the chage of interior compose of sample after high temperature sintering and discuss the mass transfer of mercury during the sintering process. The operation conditions vary four pelliti- zative pressure (2000~5000psi)、four sintering time(5~30 mins) and five sintering temperature (900~1200℃). The discuss the various pellitizative pressure、sintering temperature and sinter- ing time that affect the sintering treatment with the mass loss of sample after sintering-temperature varion、 pellitizative pre- ssure analysis mass transfer of mercury leach test and investi- gating fine configuration. From the experiment results, effect of volume reduction of sample approach an fixed value after 20 mins sintering. When the temperature is during 950℃ between 1100℃ , the density of sample is lower than the begin-forming density. From the TCLP test results, the leaching of mercury is lower than that of standard test. It suggests that the mercury contained- sludge has been transformed from hazardous solid waste into general solid waste and suitable of landfill treatment. When the temperature is during 950℃ between 1200℃, the pellitizative pressure of sample is lower than that of begin-forming sample, and sample expand and break. So, if the advanced resourcification and reuse are expected, it is necessary to remove the organic in mercruy contained-sludge before pellitizative and add the chemi- cal agent to increase the pellitizative pressure at sample.
