cis-Platin analogs have been found valuable for clinical cancer chemotherapy. The author tried to synthesize two types of carrier ligand part of cis-platin analogs, namely, 2-aminotropone oximes and 2-aminotropone imines. They posses two nitrogen atoms cis-oriented planar structures. Tropolone tosylate was easily converted into 2-aminotropones. Reaction between 2-aminotropones and hydroxylamine hydrochloride in the presence of various bases,including KOH,NaOMe,NaOAc and pyridine did not proceed. The 2-aminotropones were converted into 2-methoxytropone imines by use of dimethylsulfate first, They were then treated with freshly prepared free hydroxylamine, to afford the corresponding 2-aminotropone oximes. Similarily, 2-aminotropone iminnes were easily obtained from and various amines. It was also found that using methyl fluorosulfonate as a powerful methylating reagent, 2-aminotropones were coverted to the tropylium salts v. Then the salt was treated with freshly prepared free hydroxylamine to give the corrsponding oximes in 78% yield. By the same method, 2-aminotropone imines can be obtained from v and various amines.
