本實驗以陰極電弧電漿沉積法(CAPD)對SKH9高速鋼平板及麻花鑽頭披覆
TiN,CrN及TiCN等硬膜。平板試片以Kalote- st,微硬度機,表面粗度儀,
刮痕試驗機, X-ray繞射儀, SEM及EPMA等試驗設備,分別分析鍍膜之厚度,
硬度,表面粗糙度, ,附著性,晶體結構, 剖面型態及剖面成份線掃描之
外, 並將試片於高溫空氣爐中加熱持溫,來探討高溫對PVD硬膜破壞的影響
。在鑽孔試驗上,針對HY-80高張力鋼之被削材, 以切削速度V=18.4m/min
(900rpm)及進給速率f=0.08, 0.10, 0.12 mm/rev之切削條件,進行鑽削試
驗,以比較披覆有不同硬膜鑽頭之壽命, 並分析各種鑽削磨耗型態與經鑽
削後孔洞之表面粗糙度品質。實驗結果顯示: 平板試片在高溫下各鍍膜晶
體結構均有所改變,且表面呈現不平整現象, 其中以CrN有較佳之抗氧化性
。披覆硬膜之鑽頭壽命較諸未披覆者增加了1.5∼5倍, 且其中又以披覆
TiCN硬膜壽命最長。在各種鑽頭之切削接觸面磨耗中, chisel edge wear
影響鑽頭壽命不大,flank wear、 corner wear及crater wear隨著鑽孔數
的增加而擴大,marg- in wear則於接近鑽頭損壞前才出現; 而因為built-
up edge的成長與脫落,導致鑽洞表面粗糙度的不規則性。

This research applied CAPD method (one of the PVD thin film
processing) to coat AISI M-2 high speed steel drills with TiN,
CrN,or TiCN hard films. Characteristics and properities of the
films were evaluated by Kalotest ,scratch test,microhardness,
surface profilometry,X-ray diffractometry,SEM and EPMA
analysis. Thermal resistance of the hard film as arised in
drilling operation was simulated by subjecting the coated test
coupons to high temperature heating. It was found that CrN
possessed best thermal stability up to 900 degree C,while TiN/
TiCN depomposed at about 700 degree C. However,the drilling
performance and tool wear in cutting HY-*) steel was determined
primarily by films' relative hardness. The tool life was thus
in the order of TiCN,TiN, and then CrN. Various drill bit wears,
such as flank wear,crater wear, corner wear,margin wear,and
chisel edge wear,as well as the surface guality of the HY-80
steel after being machined by the coated and uncoated drills
were studied.
