The selective reduction of NO by NH3 addition (SNCR) has been studied by a chemical kinetic model as a function of operation parameters such as reaction temperature, NOx/NH3 ratio, additions (CH4,H2,H2O2), and resident time. In this study we try to optimize SNCR operation under various combinations of the corresponding operation parameters resulting in high NOx reduction and less ammonia slip. The simulated results show that adding CH4 along with NH3 will resulting in a significant decrease in NH3 slip and resident time. There is some effect of adding H2 or H2O2 to NH3 slip. However, they are weaker than that of CH4 addition.
