ABSTRACT The glass ceramic of Y3Fe5O12 in Phosphorus-based glass was synthetized by Incorporation Mathod. The structure and magnetic properties of the samples for as quenched and heat treatmented at 300℃, 400℃, 500℃, 600℃ were studied. From the experimental result, the only crystalline phase in Phosphorus- based glass was identified as Y3Fe5O12 , the maximum content is 30 wt%. For the sample with 30 wt% of Y3 Fe5O12 , a maximum magnetization of 0.399 emu/g under a field of 14 KOe and maximum Faraday rotation angle of 85 dge/cm were obtained . The transmittance of IR decreases as the contant of Y3Fe5O12 incresed. The magnetization, IR transmittance and Faraday rotation angle of the glass ceramic were decreased after heat treated. By increasing the temperature of heat-treatment, the Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions diffuse more easily into the glass matrix and the iron-oxides was formed, making the magneto- optical effect of the glass ceramic decreased.
