For a corporation competing in the international competitive environment, especially for Taiwanese firms with brand names, international marketing is the basis of its success. And good channelmanagement is basic to implement international marketing strategies. Because through good channel management, Taiwanese corporations can develop good relationships with their channel members and made them support their product, price, and promotion strategies to increase their global business performances.
Customer and marketing orientation is the trend for computer- related industries. The industrial competition for the next decade will be the control of marketing channels and internationalizing operations. The bottlenecks which Taiwanese PC corporations are facing are international marketing and own-brand creation, which both depend on building effective marketing channels abroad. This thesis wants to know the foreign channel management of our Taiwanese PC corporations, and to find some rules and a clearer picture of it.
To sum up, this thesis concludes as follows: 1.There are two kinds of ways of channel management of Taiwanese PC corporations, Clan Type and Bureaucracy Type.
2.A corporation''s resources and advantages have profound effects on the ways of its channel management.
3.Clan Type is the beginning mode for Taiwanese PC corporations to market own-brand products in a foreign country.
4.Making most of the channel management strategically can create corporate resources and advantages.
