Since information technology has been applied to business areas forseveral decades, it has gained a lot of valuable experiences of itsapplication in these areas. But, the applicable domain mostly focuseson the middle and lower level of business. Few were designed for executive.In order to cope with the fast changing environment as well as maintainthe competitive advantage, traditional reporting information system areinadequate. Executive Information Systems (EIS) appear to be very attractive. Although there were many studies on EIS development in the past few years,the functions, roles, and developing methods of EIS cannot content theexecutives because of the changeable business environment and the enhancementof information technology. Therefore, the major objective of this research isto propose a method for Executive Information Systems development.This research summarizes methods of developing EIS. This method considersthree frames: executives, information requirements, and informationtechnology. A double-looping procedure is applied to integrate these threeframes. A case study is executed to validate the proposed method.
