The Study of Leisure Attitude, Leisure Participation,and Other Relative Factors among Adults at Different Age Levels in Chia-Yi Area Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate leisure attitude , leisure participation ,and other relative factors among adult at different age levels in Chia-Yi area. The subjects were drawn from persons who were 20 years and above. The total valid questionnaries were 644. Based on the results of statistic analysis, the following major conclusions were drawn: 1.The leisure activities adults participating usually included both active and inactive.2.Adults in Chia-Yi area tended to know more sport kinds of leisure activities than others.3.The percent of joining Parent-Child kinds of leisure activities was low.4.Most people participated leisure activities alone,but for middle-aged and older adults, spouses were their good partinars.5.The leisure activities adults participated mostly do not need high skills.6.The reason why adults participating leisure activities were passive .7.The major barrier for adults participating leisure activities was lack of time.8.People in early adulthood were found having more participating barriers, the stage was also appropriate in developing new leisure habits.9.People in late adulthood preferred to participate the sport kinds of leisure activities .10.The leisure facilities and programs for older adult were not enough.11.Adults from the lower social economic family, the fewer to participate in leisure activities .12.In average, adults' attitude in leisure was high and the affective variables were age, education background and income.13.Generally speaking, the attitude score was high, the situations of participating leisure activities however were poor.
