Abstract High Performance Concrete (HPC) has been introduced to Taiwan for many years; however, most of them are developed for assigned project. The constructionindustry has been trying to develop some sorts of HPC that fit the demand ofTaiwan market.This research applies the existing theory to develop a kind of high flowing eugenic concrete(FEC) which is expected to be applied to construction. In the choice of material, the main consideration of the past is the strength developed from cement. In order to have the workability, traditionmethod is to add more water, as well as to use more cement to have higherstrength. However, in this research, the fly ash and slag are used as a subsidiary to the cement and exploit the reaction mechanism of pozzolans andcement. A new kind of FEC that is more stable, workable, durable and economicthan tradition concrete(TC) is developed. The research shows that FEC is able to reach the the cement strength effectof 2~3 times of TC (25~40 psi/kg cement). The total cost of materials based on 28 day''''s strength is about 80~90 % of TC, as well as based on 100th day''''s is 70~80 % of TC. In addition, the workability of FEC is more stable than TC. Therate of slump loss for 45 minutes is about 1/3 of TC. The strength growth ratein 100th day of FEC is 30~50 % above TC. The FEC develpoed are the kinds of concrete 3000, 4000 and 6000 psi which arepopularly used in the market. The high flowing characteristic of the FEC (slump250±25 mm, distance of flowing 600±100 mm) will be able to improve the quality of concrete.
