This thesis is concerned on the point diffractive interferometry and its applications to diagnotics of thermal Flowfield. The spatial filter plays an important role in the point diffractive interferometry when it*s applied to flowfield diagnotics. Included in this paper are three parts , firstly, design of manufacture of spatial filters and the evaluation of its effect on point diffractive interferometry were investigated. Secondly, the quantitative of temperature distribution was reconstructed by the analysis of interference fringes . Thirdly, the effects of the optical system design and the window quality on the technique were discussed. In this experiment , a 2-D and an axis-symmetric flowfield were measured by using the P.D.I. technique. Comparing the P.D.I. results with the traditional holography interferometry results , shows that the point diffractive interferometry has the same measurement accuracy as the holography interferometry. It concluded that the point diffractive interferometry has a great potential for gas dynamics research.
