This study investigates the emission of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) from the stack flue-gas of the five petrochemistry industrial waste incinerators in southern Taiwan. In addition, the collection efficiencies of PAHs by the air pollution control devices are also investigated. The objective of this study is to set up the data bank for the calculation of total amout of PAH emission, the PAH dispersion modeling, and the assessment of cancer risk of PAH emits from the petrochemical industrial waste incinerators. The PAH samples from the stack flue-gas are collected isokeneticly by a PAH stack-sampling system. Twenty one individual PAHs are anaalyzed primarily by a gas chromatography/ mass spectrometer(GC/MS). The major results of this study primarily includes the following items:(1)The mean concentration of total PAHs in the stack flue-gas of this five petrochemistry industrial waste incinerators are between 145 and 981 ug/Nm3 and averaged 520 ug/Nm3. (2)The mean total PAH mass emission distribution from stack flug-gas 、cyclone、EP、wet EP.wet EP.wet scrubber and bottom ash for these five petrochemistry industrial waste incinerators in 95.4%、0.56%、0.03%、0.25%、4.38% and 0.10%, respectively. (3)The total PAHs collection efficiencies of the air pollution control dvices in these five petrochemistry industrial waste incinerators are between 0.03% ~ 8.96 %, and averaged 2.28%. The air pollutio control devices of this five petrochemistry industrial waste incinerators can not remove PAHs effectively, which are mostly in the gas phase. (4)The total PAHs emission factors of this five petrochemistry industrialk waste incinerators are 2.37、1.28、10.9、31.0 and 38.4 mg/Kg-waste, respectively. The BaP emission factors are between 6.34 ~ 2690μg/Kg-waste, and averaged 772μg/Kg-waste.
