Under the rapidly changing of urbanization and the increase
of people and vehicle,this study attemps to find the problem
that Taiwan's community is facingnow. From the point of MAN-
VEHICLE HARMONY to provide a suggestion for Taiwan'sphysical
environment planning. In order to meet the inhabitable
requirement inthis new age and build a good direction for
planning and design through the strategy and implement of Urban
Design,this study will guide and standard theplanning and design
of community. The scope on this study is defined on blocks
and community(district). Theemphasis is on the subject of MAN-
VEHICLE HARMONY conflict from Taiwan's community and commuinty
development and planning from the point of Urban Design,then to
provide a planning principle of MAN-VEHICLE HARMONY for
community. As to the meaning of "MAN-VEHICLE HARMONY" ,that
is not only passively tokeep man apart from vehicle, but also
positively to make environment harmoniouswith man,vehicle and
other related facilities, so that there won't be conflictand
dangerous occurred and will approach the coexistence of man-
vehicle furtherinto harmonious relation and make people become
the chief part in community lifeagain, enjoying the pleasant
group life. Synthesizing the above description, the content
of this study will be definedas follows:1.The investigation of
related theory of MAN-VEHICLE HARMONY for community.2.The
research of community planning and the subject of man-vehicle
moving.3.The community development and planning from the concept
of Urban Design.4.The evaluation analysis of MAN-VEHICLE HARMONY
for community.5.The implement strategy of MAN-VEHICLE HARMONY
for community. Through the above description and the
investigation content,the achievementof this study will be
expected as follows:1.To provide a evaluation structure,planning
principle and strategy for the community of MAN-VEHICLE
HARMONY.2.From the point of Urban Design to provide a proper
concept and method for guiding and controlling community
development and planning.
