The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among safety personality tendency, teaching -environment Cognition, and shop safety-hygiene attitude of Senior Vocational Industrial High School students in Taiwan, R.O.C. .To achieve the purpose ,an intensive literature review about the theories of shop safety-hygiene attitude was conducted to form the basis of this study .A questionnaire survey method was adopted to collect the empirical data for the study. There were 2150 randomly selected students from 34 Senior Vocational Industrial High Schools responded on three survey instruments, entitled "Safe Personality Tendency Inventory ", "Teaching-Environment Cognition Test", and "Shop Safety-Hygiene Attitude Inventory", respectively. The return number of effective questionnaire was 1810. The return rate of the effective questionnaire was 83.64%.The statistics employed for analyzing the survey results of basic data were frequency distribution and percentage(%).Means and standard deviation were also calculated for the students'' safe personality tendency, teaching-environment cognition and shop safety-hygiene attitude.The research hypotheses were tested using t-test, oneway ANOVA, canoninal correlations, and stepwise multiple-regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1.As a whole ,the shop safety-hygiene attitude of the senior vocational industrial high school students was good. 2.There were significant differences in safe personality tendency in terms of gender, grade, school kind, school characteristic, and vocational cluster. 3.There were significant differences in teaching- environment cognition in terms of gender, grade, and vocational cluster. 4.There were significant differences in shop safety -hygiene attitude in terms of gender, grade, and school kind. 5.There were significant correlations between safe personality tendency ,teaching-environment cognition,and shop safety-hygiene attitude of the senior vocational industrial high school students. 6.The 6 predictors--gender, grade, school charac- teristic, vocational cluster, safe personality tendency , and teaching-environment cognition- could effectively predict different dimensions of shop safety-hygiene attitude.
