The purpose of this thesis was to examine the importance of career guidance in elementary school. By exploring a considerable literature review and analyzing relative theories, a Career Development Project was constructed. This study also investigated its effects on the sixth grade students'' career maturity and career aspiration. This study was a quasi-experimental design design. Participating in the study were eight classes students from two elementary schools in Changhua. Based on career development theories, curriculum was designed. The experimental group took part in 10 sessions'' acticries, once a week, forty minutes per session. A nonequivalent pretest-posttest group design were used in the study. Both the experimental and the control group were tested with the"Career Maturity Inventory" and "Education and Career Aspiration Scale". The "Career Development Project Activity Feedback Questionnaire" was administered to the experimental group only. Data collected were analyzed by Analysis of Covariance. Results of this study are summarized as follows: 1.The Career Development Project facilitates experimental condition group''s career maturity. 2.The project makes no significant effects on experimental condition group''s career aspiration wisdom. 3.The project makes no significant effects on experimental condition group''s education aspiration wisdom. 4.The project makes no significant effects on experimental condition group''s vocation aspiration consistency. 5.There is significant sex difference for experimental condition group on the career aspiration wisdom. 6.There is no significant sex difference for experimental condition group on the education aspiration wisdom and vocation aspiration consistency. 7.The experimental group exhibited favorable attitudes toward attending Career Development Project activities in general. Implications of the study''s findings and the development of career guidance in elementary school were discussed.
