The dynamic behaviors of the plastic-plastic or plastic-steel gear pairs under high operting speed are investigated. Within the gear-pair analytical model, the dynamic charcteristics of gear pairs such as lateral vibration, angular vibration, and gear noise are investigated. A gear-pair testing equipment is designed to study the vibration and gear noise of POM-POM, Nylon-Nylon, POM-Steel, and Steel-Steel gear pairs. Results indicate that the numberical solutions of the analytical model agree with experimental results.
