The present thesis relates to using a computer to form a conceptual design of power distribution system. It is essential that the conceptual design should be planned by the expert. A knowledge base, therefore, is built by the know-how from interviewing with the expert, and also making reference to therelated information.
The knowledge base is stored with sorts of objects. Each differentproblems can be stored as a corresponded object, respectively. Then, everyof the different knowledge are independent, and therefore the possibilityof the hypotheses on this field can be raised. The program constructedunder the Object-Oriented can be divided into four sections, inferenceengine, knowledge base, data base and user interface which are communicatedby the messages therebetween. For solving the distribution of the substations, the present thesis provides calculating formula for a load centerand the algorithm for the multi-load centers. The position of the load center can be obtained by using the overlapping method, and therefore thesites, quantity and capacity of each substations can be determined. Besides, the present thesis also provides a proper way to analyze and select onesfrom the various structures of the power distribution system. Finally, a semiconductor factory, for example, planned by the method provided in this thesis is set forth, and this case is enough to demonstratethe feasibility of the present thesis.
