本研究利用含浸還原法,製備Nafion/Pt及 Nafion/Pd電極,並
進一步以導電性高分子聚咇咯來 修飾電極,以改善電極對氣體感測之特
性。主要探 討(一)電極之材料特性(二)電極對氣體感測特性(三)電極對
氣體感測之動力。 實驗結果顯示,還原劑濃度
為0.06M,負載4.99 mg/cm2之Nafion/Pt電極及6.90 mg/cm2之
Nafion/Pd 電極,所具活性面積較大。以此兩隻電極對氫氣感 測,得到
感度值最大,其值分別為0.0744及0.0519 μA/ppm;而對氧氣感測,亦
得最大之感度值,分別 為0.0538及0.028 μA /ppm。
在Nafion/Pt/PPy及Nafion/Pd/PPy電極,以化 學蒸鍍5 min聚咇咯
,對氫氣、氧氣感測得到感度 值較大。氫氣感測方面,其感度值分別
為0.0261及 0.0262μA /ppm;在氧氣感測方面,感度值分別為
0.0110及0.0106 μA /ppm。雖然Nafion/Pt/PPy及 Nafion/Pd/PPy電極
之咇咯膜,導致對氣體感度下 降,但其有減緩電極老化速率及減小感
測受氣體流 速的影響之效應。 在
Nafion/Pt及Nafion/Pd電極對氣體之感度與 電極整體阻力(kD2^-0.5
)成反比,其中k與電極活性面成 正比,有效擴散係數(D2)隨電極孔隙
度之減少而降 低。Nafion/Pt/PPy及Nafion/Pd/PPy電極,氣體感 度值
隨聚咇咯膜的阻力(1/km)之增加而減小。
The Nafion/Pt and Nafion/Pd electrodes were prepared by the
Impregnation-reduction method. The electrodes were further
modified by polypyrrole to improve its characterization for gas
sensing. The material properties of the electrodes、 the
characterization of the electrodes for gas sensing and the
kinetic of the gas sensing on the electrodes were investigated
in this study. The maximum active area of the Nafion/
Pt and Nafion/Pd electrodes showed at the loading of
4.99 and 6.90 mg/cm2, respectively, prepared at
0.06M NaBH4. These two electrodes have the maximum
sensitivity for hydrogen sensing which are 0.0744 and
0.0519, respectively. The larger sensitivity for hydrogen and
oxygen sensing occurred on the Nafion/Pt/PPy and Nafion/Pd/PPy
electrodes when its polypyrrole film was prepared by chemical
vapor deposition for 5 min. The larger sensitivity for
hydrogen is 0.0261 and 0.0262 μA/ppm but for oxygen is 0.0110
and 0.0106 μA/ppm on the Nafion/Pt/PPy and Nafion/Pd/
PPy electrodes, respectively. The sensitivity of the
Nafion/Pt/PPy and Nafion/Pd/PPy electrodes is smaller than
the Nafion/Pt and Nafion/Pd electrodes because of the
resistance of the PPy film. However, the aging rate of the
electrodes and the influence of gas flow rate on the sensing for
these electrodes decrease.
The sensitivity of the Nafion/Pt and Nafion/Pd electrodes
inverses to the overall resistance of the electrode (1/√kD2)
where k is proportional to the active area of the electrode and
D2 decreases with decreasing the porosity of the electrodes.
The sensitivity of the Nafion/Pt/PPy and Nafion/Pd/PPy
electrodes decreases with an increase in the
resistance of the PPy film (1/km).
