數位電視己變成在傳播環境中下一個提供娛樂以及資訊服務的焦點,製作
測試工具對於數位電視產品發展有極大的幫助.本論文的焦點是集中於發
展MPEG-II Transport StreamGenerator 來測試數位電視之解譯系統.此
產生器是架構在PC上,能夠分析獲得MPEG-IITransport Stream 的一些資
訊,同時也能測試儲存於視訊伺服器的MPEG data 可否正常的播放. 此發
展工作主要集中於二個部份,第一.製作一個Stream Generator 的驅動程
式.第二.改良先前的MPEG-II Stream 分析器,以便獲得更多MPEG Packet
的一些重要資訊.為了加強此測試工具的功能,還發展了一個模擬Jitters
產生的演算法,如此這個Stream Generator也能夠處理當MPEG-II
Transport Stream 傳輸至解譯器時MPEG Packet 延遲的不固定性所造成
的問題. 最後,此篇論文討論製作此三個測試工具時的一些相關知識,以及
製作的方法.

Digital TV has become the focus of the next generation
entertainment andinformation service in the broadcast
environment. Development of a testing tool is key to the digit
TV product development. This thesis focuses on the development
of MPEG-II transport stream generator that can be used to
testthe digital TV decoding system. This generator is PC-based
and is capable ofanalyzing the MPEG-II transport stream in
retrieving program and also to verifythe stream before testing
is conducted. Futhermore, the generator is capable ofstreaming
MPEG data stored in a video server with correct timing. The
developmentwork focuses on two aspects. First, the architecture
of the PC-based stream generator is defined so the device driver
can be devised;secondly,the MPEG streamanalyzer, developed
previously is refined to provide necessary information for
stream analysis. In order to enhance the testing capability of
the tool, a jitterssimulation algorithm is developed such that
the stream generator can deliver anMPEG transport stream to test
the decoder''s capability in handling the MPEG packetdelay-
variations. The development work has been realized with testing
results shown.This paper also discusses the usefulness of the
testing tool and also gives the future development.
