本論文主要是構建出一個網路資源管理查詢系統，這個系統具有地理資訊系統顯圖的能力；其屬性資料環境則以物件觀念的機制完成；使用者的圖形介面則使用具跨平台特性的瀏覽器以3-tier的架構實現。
本系統嘗試結合資料庫、地理資訊系統技術與網際網路異質環境，並實際建置空間資訊與屬性資訊在網際網路上之整合應用環境，進而探討管理資訊系統中自動顯圖及設施管理系統之可行性。此一網路資源管理查詢系統能夠藉由網際網路提供系統管理者與使用者在線上管理、分析、查詢檢索、網路管線分佈及資源配備圖形顯示等功能，以改善目前的單機資料庫查詢系統流通層面不足的缺點。本論文中，更以實驗來驗證本系統的可行性與有效性。

The management of a client/server network facility management is proposed and implemented. The system uses geographic information system (GIS) and World Wide Web (WWW) techniques, along with database management allowing people to obtain spatial information effectively. We also provide instant analysis of equipment information so that the mechanism achieves automated mapping and facilities management (AM/FM) system.
The three-tier client/server architecture is used with a distributed object environment which allows user to maintain backend database system easily and to develop front-end query interface without affecting original functions of the server. A number of experiments are conducted as well to illustrate the efficacy of the established system.
