Both municipal and industrial water demands were forecasted to greatly in-crease in the future in Taiwan. However, the costs of water resources develop-ment are getting more expensive and societal and environmental concern cause new water resources project become infeasible. Therefore, to increase the eff- iciency of water resources management, especially in a regional water resourcessystem, is getting more important than ever. In a regional water resourcessystem, the primary yield was the water supply that supplies each water demand, and the secondary yield can be brought into use for flushing sediment throughreservoirs. Based on the regional management of water resources, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the capability of the primary and secondary yield of different types of water resource project. To insure the water supplyefficiency was improved,a network simulation model and a dynamic network modelwere adopted to analyze the water resource allocation in a regional system. Then analyzed results showed that it is necessary to consider the water demand, project scale, project operation rule and project location in a system forproperly evaluating the contribution of augmenting regional yield of a waterresource project.
