使用於煞車及離合器之磨擦複合材料通常包含不同之強化材以達到材
料所需的摩擦 及磨耗特性,而大部份使用之強化材為石綿,因此本研究即
針對以金屬短纖與顆粒取代石 綿為摩擦複合材料中之強化材之可行性,
金屬強化材具有良好的熱傳導 延展性及耐磨耗 特性與低污染等特性o
本研究採用不同之金屬強化材如鋼鐵 銅鐵 鐵粉 鋁纖等添加於摩擦複合
材中,並與 添加礦物纖維如岩綿 石綿比較其摩擦與磨耗性質o 而磨耗前
後之結構及成份變化則利用 SEM及EDS與洛式硬度試驗機分析,以推測可能
之磨耗機構o 實驗結果顯示所有之摩
擦複合材料在摩擦溫度低於攝氏250度時皆有穩定的摩擦係數 及磨耗率,
但超過攝氏300度時則因熱裂化發生,附著於對摩材與試片表面之轉移層形
成相 當弱的鍵結,形成類似三體滾動的接觸面,摩擦係數產生衰減的現象o
而高溫摩擦試驗後之 循環試驗顯示添加鋼纖與鐵粉之試片其摩擦係數之
回復情況不佳o經由SEM及表面粗糙度分析對摩材及磨屑顯示:摩擦試片與
對摩材灰鑄鐵間之磨耗現象相當複雜包含有研磨 黏著及熱裂化等,而這些
磨耗機構在磨耗過程伴隨摩擦溫度及轉移層的形成與性質而改變O

Fricton materials for breaks and clutches contain various
fillers to help give the materals the required
friction and wear properties. The most widely used
fillers are fiber reinforcements such asbestos. Metal
fiber has well thermal conductivity,ductile,wear resistant and
low pollution.The purpose of this study is decided whether the
short metal fiber can instead of asbestos as
reinforcing agents. In this study we used
different kinds of reinforcing agents such as steel
fiber,copper fiber,aluminium fiber,iron power and mineral fiber
such as rock wool and asbestos in friction composite to compared
with their friction and wear properties. The changes
of composition and structure have been
characterized by SEM,EDS and Rockwell hardness
measurement.
The experimental results showed that all the friction composites
have steady state friction coefficients and wear rate
under the friction temperature 250 centigrade,but
when over 300 centigrade they have thermal degradation.The
transfer layer will become very weak and result in a
situation similar to a three -body rolling contact in which
fiction will be reduced(called fade).After a high
temperature friction test,the recovery test revealed that
sample contain steel fiber and iron powder did not regained it'
soriginal friction level.SEM and roughness investigates of the
counterface of both elements and of the wear products,revealed
that friction phenomena assoicated with friction composites
-gray cast iron combinations are complex.Abrasive,
afhesive and thermal wear,whose share in the total balance
of the mechanism of wear change,occur depending upon the
temperature and nature of the transfer layer generated.
