We have calculated the magnetic levitation / suspension force between a superconductor and a permanent magnet and compared with that of measured data.To calculate the specific matrix flux density of single grained Y-Ba-Cu-O high temperature superconductor with equations derived by the Ampere''s current of electromagnetism, and then used this matrix to solve a series of multiple equations that result in experimentally trapped magnetic flux density data, the solution of the matrix represents the surface and volume current density within the bulk superconductor at various positions. The levitation / suspension force can be represented by the interaction force between these two sets of current (i.e. surface current of magnet and surface plus volume current of superconductor) at various gap distance.
