AbstractThe aim of this study is to assess community quality of traffic and to compare the traffic problems between different local communities. Because traditional transportation planning paid less attation on local life activities , many improvement alternatives have thus not been carried out effectively . This memoir purposed to obtain a habits* or customer*s view of the world , instead of a professional*s or planner*s view . Travel behaviour is viewed as a link in the process of fulfilling needs through the accIn the past , transportation studies were conducted based on aggregate level or individual level , but seldom both . It is argued that the relationship between individuals depending upon their resources , opportunities for extra-local links , personal needs and the place in which they live . The contextual effects occur when characteristics of the local geographical area (community) influence individual behavior . We established marco-micro linkages through place effects on individuals . A multi-level variaThe main findings are as follows : First , we used correspondence analysis to summarize eight communities in Tainan area by traffic circumstance . As the result ,base upon the factors display on the two-dimensional graph could classify these communities under three categories. 1. "outgoing" and "park problem" are all satisfaction : zenyi community. 2. "outgoing" and "park problem" are all unsatisfaction : lesien community. 3. "outgoing" is satisfaction but "park problem" is unsatisfaction : danan, sunnew, ainccon, fuchan, fungfang communitiSecondly , the united model that comprise individual-level and household-level variables fail to provide a complete explanation . By adding the community contextual factors , the model could interpret dweller*s perception of the community traffic effectively . By compare with differential local*s models which signification factors are different , we can find the community*s traffic circumstance .
