In this thesis, we propose a system to simulate Chinese knots. This systemdecomposes complex Chinese knots geometry into five construction units and simulates lots of existing well-known Chinese knots by organizing theseconstruction units. The organizing mechanism of Chinese knots synthesis ishighly general. Therefore, one can create new "spice" of Chinese knots inhis own inspiration. Moreover, in order to offer realistic visual effects,we also propose an efficient method to simulate the fabrics details ofthreads.
