In this study, we revise the representation model of the mathema-tical knowledge, local concept map, which was firstly studied by W.C.Lee. According to this revision of the local concept map, we are ableto provide a new assessment procedure to identify students'' misconception. We begin with the construction of the local concept map of a specificmathematical concept. This local concept map includes not only the hierarchical structure of the concept but also the content of the concept.Since only the concepts that are closely related to the major one areconsidered in the local concept map, thus we may provide a detail analysisabout the concept in a very simple format. This local concept map enables us to design a sequential assessment that is an imitation as the examination for identifying physical problems. The results are positivethe application to pin point students'' misconception.
