The implementation of CALS (Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support) strategy in information environmetn aspect by the Chinese army has been of certain magnitude in the preliminary phase, but concerning the related technology and standard application, it is in lack of practical operation experience; this research attempts to focus on the induction of the Product Date Management (PDM) within the scope of application of CALS as the research subject, hoping to, through the process of inducing PDM into research, establish the concept of implementing CALS strategy. PDMS (PDM System), in order to realize the strategic information system of CALS, how to enable, under the strategic goal of CALS, the establishment of information system to, besides supporting automation of the existing operation flow, be further upgraded to the level of strategic planning level of supporting organization activity, and engage in mutual contact with the corporate goal. This research adopts the analysis mode of "Critical Success Factor (CSF)" proposed by Rockart to serve as the approach of PDM demand induction mode. From the target demand of production of industries and corporate revenue operation, the due function and structure of applying PDM is concluded. In order to test the feasibility of this research approach and practical business, this study also adopts case empirical analysis, with a certain case company as its research object, through CSF interview strategic approach, to induce the strategy data model. On the other hand, the "strategy data model" proposed for the case company in this study may well serve as the set up foundation of PDM mode. Therefore, this study, based on CSF approach as theoretical basis, proposes PDM demand analysis and business scope analysis operation frame flow process, and with such research as the CSF and CSF interview strategy, etc. as the basis of a case company in implementing PDM induction. Meanwhile, during the research progress, it is discovered the demand of organization learning and project management demand. It is expected this research result may serve as reference of understanding PDM during development of CALS strategy.
