  本研究目的在探討國小學童在「自我概念」、「數學學習動機」與「數學成就」之現況;「自我概念」、「數學學習動機」與「數學成就」之間的關係。本研究採用「調查研究法」與「相關研究法」。研究樣本取自高雄市586位國小五年級普通班學童。研究工具採用「兒童自我態度問卷」、「兒童數學學習經驗量表」與五年級上學期部份的「柯氏國民小學數學科成就測驗」。其中,「兒童數學學習經驗量表」為研究者自編,內容包含「引起注意」、「切身相關」、「建立信心」與「感到滿意」等四個分量表。以描述統計、多變量變異數分析、典型相關、線性結構等統計方法進行資料之分析與處理。研究主要的發現如下:
  一、自我概念、數學學習動機與數學成就之現況
  (一)國小學童在「對外界接納的態度」得分的平均數相對於其他分量表較高,在「對自己能力與成就的態度」得分的平均數相對於其他分量表較低,在「對自己身體特質的態度」、「對自己人格特質的態度」及「對自己價值系統與信念」得分的平均數傾向中等。
  (二)不同性別的國小學童的「對自己身體特質的態度」上有顯著差異,男生比女生高;在「對自己價值系統與信念」上有顯著差異,女生比男生高;在「對自己能力與成就的態度」、「對自己人格特質的態度」及「對外界接納的態度」上則沒有顯著差異。
  (三)國小學童在「切身相關」得分的平均數相對於其他分量表較高,在「感到滿意」得分的平均數相對於其他分量表較低,在「引起注意」及「建立信心」得分的平均數傾向中等。
  (四)不同性別的國小學童在「建立信心」上有顯著差異,男生比女生高;在「引起注意」、「切身相關」、「感到滿意」上則沒有顯著差異。
  (五)國小學童在「統計圖表」得分的平均數偏高,在「數與計算」、「量與實測」與「圖形與空間」得分的平均數傾向中等。
  (六)不同性別的國小學童在「數與計算」、「統計圖表」上有顯著差異,女生比男生高;在「量與實測」、「圖形與空間」上則沒有顯著差異。
  二、國小學童在自我概念、數學學習動機與數學成就之間的關係
  (一)「自我概念」與「數學成就」之間有顯著相關,「自我概念」愈高,「數學成就」愈高。
  (二)「數學學習動機」與「數學成就」之間有顯著相關,「數學學習動機」愈高,「數學成就」愈高。
  (三)「自我概念」與「數學學習動機」之間有顯著相關,「自我概念」愈高,「數學學習動機」愈高。
  (四)「自我概念」、「數學學習動機」與「數學成就」之因果模式未被拒絕,「自我概念」與「數學學習動機」對「數學成就」都有影響。
  本研究根據研究結果,提出教育上的應用與未來研究之建議。
  The purposes of this study were to investigate (1)the current conditions of self-concept, motivation to learn nathematics, and mathematics achievement, and (2)the relationships among self-concept, motivation to learn mathematics, and mathematics achievement. This study used the methods of survey and correlation research. There were five hundred and eighty- six children selected as subjects from the 5th grade of the common classes of the elementadry schools in Kaohsiung city. The instruments used in the study were the scale of children''s attitude toward themselves, the scale of children''s mathematics learning experience, and Ko elementary school mathematics achievement test in the first semester of the 5th grade. Among them, the scale of children''s mathematics learning experience was set up by the researcher. It was divided into four parts: attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. This study used descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis of variance, canonical, and linear structural relation to analyze the data. The main findings of this study were as follows:
  1. The current conditions of self-concept, motivation to learn mathematics, and mathematics achievement.
  (1) The average score of all the subjects on the attitude toward being accepted by the outside world was the highest; it was the lowest on the attitude toward individual abilities and achievements; it was moderate on the attitude toeard individual body characteristics, the attitude toward individual Dersonality characteristics. and individual value system and belief.
  (2)The sex difference of the subjects was significant on the attitude toward individual body characteristics : boys were better than girls. Also, it was significant on individual value system and belief : girls were better than boys. However, it was not significant on the attitude toward individual abilities and achievements, the attitude toward individual personality characteristics, and the attitude toward being accepted by the outside world.
  (3)The average score of all the subjects on relevance was the highest; it was the lowest on satisfaction; it was moderate on attention, and confidence.
  (4)The sex difference of the subjects was significant on confidence : boys were better than girls. However, it was not significant on attention, relevance, and satisfaction.
  (5)The average score of all the subjects on statistics chart was higher; it was moderate on count and calculate, amount and real measure, and grape and space.
  (6)The sex difference of the subjects was significant on count and calculate, and statistics chart : girls were better than boys. However, it was not significant on amount and real measure, and grape and space.
  2. The relationships among self-concept, motivation to learn mathematics, and mathematics achievement
  (1)There was significant correlation between self-concept and mathematics achievement; and the higher self-concept was, the higher mathematics achievement would show.
  (2)There was significant correlation between motivation to learn mathematics and mathematics achievement; and the higher motivation to learn mathematics was, the higher mathematics achievement would show.
  (3)There was significant correlation between self-concept and motivation to learn mathematics; and the higher self-concept was, the higher motivation to learn mathematics would show.
  (4)The causality model among self-concept, motivation to learn mathematics, and mathematics achievement would not be rejected; and self-concept, motivation to learn mathematics had influence on mathematics achievement.
  According to the results, this study provides suggestions for the educational application and future study.
