薁環冠醚分子對於鹼金、鹼土族之錯合能力，在過去幾年中，已經有人做過一些
相關的研究。先前之報告中皆以合成二度空間之雙冠醚為主，利用醚鏈上之親核原
子(O、N)與金屬錯合，對於金屬離子之選擇性乃決定於醚鏈之長短(孔洞的大小)。
本研究則以雙冠醚為主體進行簡單之親核性反應[2+2']來合成杯[4]芳烴類(calix[4]-
arene)化合物(syn or anti -azuleno [4] calixarene)，並於環中引進長短不同之醚
鏈。希望藉由薁環上之p電子與醚鏈上之氧之間的作用，及杯口的大小，對於不同之金
屬能具有不同之選擇性。並利用氫核磁共振譜儀、紫外光－可見光譜儀來了解化合物
對於有機層中金屬之錯合能力及對於水溶液中苦味酸金屬鹽離子的萃取能力，作一定
性及定量之研究。

The complexation ability of azulenocrown thers with alkali and alkalin earth
ions have been reported before.
In this program, the azulene calix[4]arenes are synthesized by using the high-
dilution method. The complexation ability of these compounds were studied by
NMR spectroscopy and extration methods using their picrate salts.
