Power Supplies are used in miscellaneous electronic systems and the voltage regulator is an essential part for them. The output characteristics of a voltage regulator will vary as the input voltage, the output current, and the ambient temperature. Therefore, the analysis of these characteristics of voltage regulators are important. Nowadays, SPICE is the most popular electronic circuit simulation program. It is troublesome when the internal structure and the parameter values of IC must be accessed and the traditional circuit level analyses consume CPU time. In order to avoid those defects and to get a good approximate solution, the Behavioral-level macromodel which just focus on terminal characteristics is the best choice. The macromodel of adjustable voltage regulator is harder to create than other regulators , because it has more pins and uses external circuits. In this research, a procedure for constructing a macromodel based on the measured data of LM305 series IC will be presented. And a general rule to fit simultaneously the load regulation and the temperature effect is done for industrial designers. In this thesis, the voltage regulator was first partioned into several functional blocks and each functional block was built as submodels. Then, submodels were combined into the require macromodel. Finally, simulation results are compared with measured data, and they fit well each other.
