Leisure time and amusement play an increasingly pivotal role in the lives of people with increasing wealth and improved quality of life. Recently, in Taiwan, as a result, amusement parks have been mushrooming and expanding amidstmounting competition. It is found that how to regulate such entertainment industry operated by the private sector to meet the increasing competition become more important. Competitive strategy is the foundation direction for long-term business development and provides entrepreneurs with definite guidelines and objectives. This study aims at analyzing the competitive of strategies PSAP based on the resource-based view. The "resource-based view"-a strategic management theory newly emerged only in the past decade-stresses that rare and unique corporate resources which others can hardly emulate is the key to keeping competency. The study adopts a exploratory case study method, comparing two large-scale PSAP-either listed or OTC-to examine the key issues through case analysis.Findings yielded in this study are highlighted by: Ⅰ.In terms of strategic resources, the managerial know-how and service marketing is the most important resources and capability to private sector amusement park. Ⅱ.Park planning, theme characteristics, technical cooperation, innovative park creations and managerial Know-how will determine whether or not a private sector amusement park possesses unique tangible and intangible assets.Ⅲ.Service crew, service systems, customer satisfaction, brand image in such service marketing are the key factors for successful private sector amusement parks.Ⅳ.Private sector amusement parks are advised to develop unique and appropriated resources should be accumulated in the corporations as the foundation of competitive advantages.Ⅴ.Strategic resources should be the foundation of business strategy development and the accumulated should be guided by means of business strategy.
