本論文主要的目的是利用我國中壢特高頻雷達的觀測結果，針對1998年電離層散塊E層場沿不規則體的回波作非夏季(2月∼6/15)以及夏季(6/15∼10月)回波之方向角（aspect angle）統計，得知垂直磁力線方向的方向角於非夏季的平均為 、夏季的平均為 。利用垂直磁力線方向的半角寬（angular half-width），可估計散射不規則體垂直磁場方向的全年平均尺度為5.46公里。
由6月10日、7月26日及8月14日的回波事件發現，當主波出現時，低頻電漿波的方向靈敏度，亦符合非線性機制的考量。而由6月30日的回波事件，顯示出中壢上空經常觀測到的現象為雜亂分布的電漿波。經由這幾個事件的討論，來建立中壢上空Ｅ層場沿不規則體的資訊。

Applying the observations of the Chung-Li VHF radar in 1998, this dissertation aims to conduct the aspect angle measurements on the echoes from the field aligned irregularities in ionospheric E-region.The measured mean aspect angle in the direction perpendicular to magnetic field is 1.16° in spring (Feb. to Jun.), and 1.2° in summer (Jun. to Oct.). With the observed angular half-width, the zonal width of the patchy irregularities is 5.46 kilometers on average.
According to the detection made on June 10, July 26 and August 14, in 1998, the increased aspect angle of low-frequency plasma waves can be attributed to the non-linear wave interactions when the primary waves dominate. Furthermore, the result detected on June 30 can be the representative of the scattering echoes that frequently occur in the observations. The signature observed at the Chung-Li VHF site can be drawn from the results shown in this paper.
