電腦整合製造的用意是透過工廠內資訊流的彙整,提供經理、生產、以及機台維護工程師一個簡化的實境 (simplified reality)。本論文是針對廣義的廠區,就製程規劃、資料記錄以及即時性監控三主題,發展電腦整合製造所需之相關技術。其中有關製程規劃部份,重點在於提供以圖形配置(configure)為基礎的派屈網(Petri Net)之流程規劃環境,讓使用者在配置出對應製程之派屈網後,即可直接監控製造之機台達到意欲的生產流程,而不需另外撰寫生產規劃系統所需之程式碼。另外工程及製造資料庫部分,本論文採用分析電腦整合製造中生產規劃系統的派屈網,儲存機台與在加工原料等製程資料,並存放在資料庫系統中,以供查詢與分析之用。在資訊流的處理方面,透過CORBA分散式處理的機制,本論文設計出一能根據工廠現廠即時性的變化,將監控資料傳給網路上任意電腦,不再受限於必須知道所有網路位址的困擾,與避免跨平台時所造成干擾。本論文除了對一般組裝工廠提出電腦整合製造系統設計的架構之外,另外也具體實現上物件導向的技術進行探討。

The concept of computer integrated manufacturing system is to provide a simplified reality of a manufacturing activity for management. With much progress in computer and system integration technology, the concept of computer integrated manufacturing system is now becoming feasible. This thesis is concerned with the design of a computer integrated manufacturing system based on manufacturing requirements. The research includes a Petri net-based configure production planning system which allows manufacturing flows to be modeled graphically, an engineering and manufacturing data base which can cache manufacturing operation, and a CORBA frame which can make real-time network shop floor control system feasible. The computer integrated manufacturing system can be implemented for any type of shop floor.
