在知識經濟的時代,企業很難單打獨鬥創造出足夠的智慧能量,成功的技術移轉成為企業競爭優勢的重要來源,本論文以技術移轉進行過程為研究焦點,嘗試找出技術移轉雙方較佳的互動模式,以提昇技術移轉績效。
本論文的研究對象為台灣地區與工研院合作的企業,首先訪談六家企業,瞭解互動模式失靈的原因與廠商對研究機構的期待,然後針對86至88年與工研院合作的中小企業進行問卷調查,共回收122份有效問卷,資料分析後,主要得到下列五個發現:
1. 技術移轉互動模式失靈的原因可分為:外在因素、互動因素、接受技術移轉廠商因素、與研究機構因素,以接 受技術移轉的廠商觀點分析,外在因素和研究機構因素較不能著力改善,廠商因素涉及組織的僵固性,選擇適 當的互動模式是廠商提昇移轉績效立即可行的重要手段。
2. 整體來說,互動模式對移轉績效有顯著影響,高人員互動頻率的「進度導向型」模式移轉績效顯著較高。
3. 專案類型對移轉績效有顯著影響,「低技術移轉困難型」專案的績效顯著較低,因此,在進行技術移轉之前 ,應審慎考慮移轉技術特性與專案特性。
4. 技術移轉績效會受專案類型與互動模式配適程度的影響。從互動模式與專案類型的交互作用來看,「低技術移 轉困難型」專案若採行「進度導向型」互動,對移轉績效將產生負面影響。
5. 互動模式與移轉專案類型配適度對各績效子構面的影響有顯著差異;兩者配適度對互動過程績效和技術績效有 顯著影響,對於成本績效和競爭力績效無顯著影響,顯示移轉績效衡量為多構面。
最後,本論文並針對研究發現在理論發展上與管理實務上的意涵進行討論。
In the knowledge-based economy year, it is important for the enterprise to acquire knowledge from outside company and transfer those to its intellectual capital. Especially for small businesses, a crucial issue today is how to build up their competitive advantage through transfer of technology successfully. This research is focused on how to promote technology transfer performance by a effective interaction model between R& D institutions and small businesses in Taiwan.
Two studies, Study I and Study II, were conducted to collect data and test propositions for this research. Study I attempts to find the reasons of failure of interaction model. The researcher conducted in-depth interviews with six enterprises which have cooperated or are maintaining cooperative project with ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute). Study II attempts to empirically test the relationship between project pattern, interaction model and transfer performance. The fitness between project pattern and interaction model is also examined in Study II. The sampled enterprises in this survey are small businesses in Taiwan which have cooperated with ITRI during 1997 to 1999. There are 122 valid survey questionnaires were received. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, discriminate analysis, and two-way ANOVA with interaction model are used in this research.
Major findings of this study are summarized as follow:
1. Form study I, the researcher concluded four sources of failure interaction between transferrer and accepter : external factor, transfer process factor, firm factor, and R&D institute factor. The most improvable dimension for increasing performance is to build a effective interaction model in technology transfer process.
2. Generally speaking, interaction model has significant influence on transfer performance. High interaction frequency and high human bridge model will facilitate high performance.
3. Project pattern has significant influence on transfer performance. Low-tech-difficult-transfer project cannot obtain a high performance with any interaction model.
4. The fitness of project pattern and interaction model has significant influence on technology transfer performance. That is, there is no best interaction model for all project pattern. In some case, a good interaction model will have negative influence on special project.
5. The fitness of project pattern and interaction model has differenct influence on sub-measurement dimension of technology transfer performance. The fitness has significant influence on interaction process performance and technology performance. But it has little influence in cost-down performance and increasing-competitive-advantage performance.
Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the paper.
