氯乙烯(Vinyl chloride)的用途很廣,為世界當前大量使用製造聚氯乙烯的有機化合物之一,且為已知肝毒性致癌物質;從事氯乙烯聚合的勞工人數甚多,工作年齡大多很長,長期暴露在氯乙烯的環境之下,氯乙烯真正進入人體的量,著實難以估計。從動物的實驗中發現,我們可以經由氯乙烯的尿液代謝物Thiodiglycolic acid與S-carboxy-methylcysteine來評估氯乙烯在體內排泄的情況。而由許多的研究發現,Thiodiglycolic acid的排泄情況與氯乙烯工作場所的濃度有關性。
本研究的目的是欲瞭解聚氯乙烯製造廠工人之尿中Thiodiglycolic acid在不同的工作時段,其濃度之間的差異;並結合個人氯乙烯的採樣,來探討之間的相關性。
