資訊的交流是現代社會運作裡非常重要的一環。隨著網際網路的蓬勃發展，各種資訊隨手可得；而個人行動通訊系統的普及，更使得人跟人之間的聯繫變得簡單。藉由網際網路與行動通訊系統的結合，不僅讓網際網路的資訊服務行動化，也為行動通訊系統提供許多加值服務。為因應此一趨勢，本篇論文提出了一個整合的系統架構，透過以XML為基礎的Instant Messaging系統Jabber及Short Message Service Center（SMSC）的整合，結合Internet與無線網路。
Jabber系統可整合多種不同的IM系統，如ICQ、AIM…等，而SMSC建構在GSM SMS的服務上，利用短訊來提供即時資訊。因此，Jabber與SMSC的結合不僅可在Internet與無線網路之間提供雙向的溝通管道，更可讓使用者透過多種平台及無線通訊設備輕易地取得各種熱門即時資訊，如股市行情、即時新聞、交通路況等，隨時隨地掌握世界脈動，進而創造無限商機。

Information exchange becomes increasing vital in this world today. With the fast growth of Internet, people can get information easily; and the wild spread of mobile subscriber enhances the convenience of communication. For getting advantages of both together, this thesis proposes an architecture, which provides communication between Internet and wireless network by integrating Jabber System and Short Message Service Center (SMSC).
Jabber System is an XML-based IM (Instant Messaging) System which communicates with various other IM Systems, such as ICQ and AIM. On the other hand, SMSC can provide real-time information including stock prices, news…etc based on GSM SMS system. Thereby, Integrating Jabber and SMSC establishes a bi-directional communication channel between Internet and wireless network as well as sends personal information to users in multiple platforms and wireless subscribers.
