華南沿海晚燕山期侵入岩漿活動,是古太平洋板塊與歐亞大陸地殼聚合邊界上最大規模的地質事件。由岩漿大地構造學建立閩浙地區之華南火成岩帶、長樂-南澳變質帶至台灣大南澳變質帶的晚燕山期岩漿序列與岩石成因關係,可配合構造活動分為造山期(130-110 Ma)與後造山期(110-80 Ma),對於其後之非造山期,則依岩性明顯轉變再加以細分:岩石圈岩漿為主(晚白堊紀至始新世)及軟流圈岩漿為主(中新世),藉以制約歐亞大陸東緣由增厚至減薄的岩石圈演化。
華南沿海各大地構造單元的同造山期火成岩類,其岩性呈現地理分帶的現象。在長樂-南澳變質帶上,主要以高鋁輝長岩類及英雲閃長岩類為主,順左移剪切帶深位侵入到前期高鉀片麻岩基盤中。地化上,此類岩石具有低K2O、高Al2O3、富Sr、低Y的特性,蛛網圖上呈現類似島弧型玄武岩(IAB-like)的分布型態,屬於造山帶地殼增厚階段特有的高鋁岩漿活動──由下部地殼角閃岩類在大於45公里的深度,經脫水部份融熔作用所產生。根據長樂-南澳變質帶各期侵入體的剝蝕歷史重建,顯示地殼當時曾增厚到50公里以上的厚度,支持同造山期高鋁岩漿形成的條件。相較之下,在華南火成岩帶上,則以高鉀鹼性花崗岩為主,少部份岩體具有A型花崗岩類特徵,呈現淺位侵入體-火山岩組合。地化上具有高K2O、低Sr、富Rb的特徵,可能由中下部地殼的火成岩類,在剪張環境中受到基性岩漿底侵作用,產生低程度部份融熔的高鉀岩漿,並侵入到地殼淺部。
後造山期火成岩類廣泛分布在華南沿海地區的張裂盆地中,均為淺位侵入體-火山岩組合。各構造單元所呈現的岩性無太大差別,但有由內陸(110-99 Ma)往陸緣(90-80 Ma)遷移的趨勢。侵入岩類主要以高鉀鈣鹼性花崗岩為主,少部份為基性岩脈。地化上呈現似島弧型岩漿特徵,具高K2O、Al2O3、富Sr、低Y之地化特性,明顯呈現出大離子半徑元素的富化。其富化機制來自於大地構造體系的轉變,由同造山期增厚的岩石圈地函發生底脫作用(delamination),導致岩石圈減薄,岩石圈地函廣泛發生小程度部份融熔,產生高鉀基性岩漿並底侵於下部地殼,促使下部地殼既有角閃岩類發生脫水部份融熔,形成中酸性花崗岩質岩漿,順張裂構造中上升到地殼淺部。
非造山期火成岩類分成晚白堊紀-始新世及中新世兩期,岩漿演化依內、外造山帶而有差異。內造山帶(如閩浙東部)的第一期岩漿活動,主要為高鉀鈣鹼性基性岩脈或火山岩類(晚白堊紀至始新世),與A型花崗岩(94-90 Ma)或流紋岩類形成的雙模式組合;而第二期則以似洋島型玄武岩(OIB-like)為主。就侵入岩類而言,基性岩脈皆具有高K2O、高Al2O3、似島弧型玄武岩的特性,顯示與後造山期岩漿的來源物質與形成條件相類似。若前期岩漿活動殘留的難熔物質,在基性岩漿持續底侵下,再度發生小程度部份融熔,則可形成A型花崗岩漿。相較之下,外造山帶(如台灣大南澳變質帶)在晚白堊紀至始新世之間,岩石圈已快速減薄至軟流圈物質得以部份融熔,形成似洋島型玄武岩質岩漿,並於漸新世至中新世轉變為洋脊玄武岩。
對於上述造山帶的形成至陸緣的張裂並出現海殼,本文採用超級地函柱(superplume)事件有關的模式來解釋。因太平洋早白堊紀發生超級地函柱的湧升,造成西太平洋海陸板塊間的複合作用(coupling),導致大陸岩石圈擠壓的地質事件。隨後因地函柱阻擾了西太平洋的對流系統,使海板塊退轉(roll-back)造成大陸邊緣張裂。由研究區域的岩漿演化關係,可制約晚白堊紀海板塊與大陸岩石圈間的分離(decoupling),始新世隱沒板塊對大陸邊緣的下拉(dripping)及漸新世隱沒板塊的斷裂脫離(break-off)等岩石圈一系列的演化過程。

In the Cretaceous time, Late Yanshanian orogenic belts, including the South China Magmatic Belt, Changle-Nanao Metamorphic Belt and Tananao Metamorphic Belt, were developed with numerous igneous emplacements in the eastern margin of SE China. Geochemical and dating data of these igneous suites indicate that syn-orogenic (130-110 Ma), post-orogenic (110-80 Ma) and anorogenic (late Cretaceous to Miocene) stages were characterized by low-K high-Al gabbroic to medium-K tonalitic intrusions, high-K calc-alkaline granitic intrusions, and bimodal-intraplate magmatism, respectively. Geneses of syn-orogenic high-Al gabbros and tonalites were related to a thickened crust over 50 km, as evidenced by the reconstruction of denudation history in the Changle-Nanao Metamorphic Belt. Post-orogenic magamtism, represented by widespread epizonal high-K calc-alkaline batholiths, was mainly controlled by the delamination and/or convective removal of overthickened lithospheric mantle and by asthenospheric upwelling. The anorogenic magmatism began with IAB-like basalts in inner belt (Eastern Zhejiang and Fujian) and OIB-like basalts in outer belt (Tananao Metamorphic Belt) during late Cretaceous to Eocene, and was ended up with Miocene wide-spreading intraplate basalts and limited mid-oceanic ridge basalts. Such a magmatic evolution is suggested to be a reflection of mountain building to marginal sea opening tectonics in the maritime Cathaysia under the influence of the Cretaceous Mid-Pacific superplume (Vaughan, 1995). As the plume head blockaded the westward convection system of the Pacific mantle leading to the rollback of subducting slab through a continuing thinning of a thickened continental lithosphere in SE China, a series of tectonic changes in response to the plate dynamics occurred, mainly involving coupling (early Cretaceous) and decoupling (late Cretaceous) of subducting and overriding plates, and dripping (Eocene) and breakoff (Oligocene) of the sinking slab.
