近年來,在語音編碼的領域當中,碼本激發式線性預估編碼(CELP)為一相當普遍受歡迎的方法。有關於CELP的研究已成功地被發展當中,而CELP的編碼也已廣泛地被應用到現今的通訊系統中。在這篇論文中,我們先對傳統的CELP編碼器作一番研究,然後提出一wavelet-based CELP coder。此一編碼器主要是將小波轉換(wavelet transformation)與傳統的CELP 編碼器結合在一起。其實驗模擬的結果也顯示出在位元率被降低下保有著不錯的語音品質。Wavelet-based CELP coder 並具有多重解析編碼(multiresoultion coding)及低計算複雜度(computational complexity)的優點。

Code-Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) is a popular scheme of speech in recent decade. The research of CELP coding has been developed successfully and also CELP has been applied on communication system comprehensively. In this thesis, we study the conventional CELP coders and propose the wavelet-based CELP coders, which combine wavelet transformation, and the conventional CELP coders. The simulation result shows fine performance of speech quality with reduced bit-rate. And, the wavelet-based CELP coder provides the advantage of multiresolution coding and lower computational complexity.
