本實驗以Ink-Jet printing method 產生雙向自由液滴(Free droplet stream)於空氣中碰撞後,進入高溫環境燃燒,研究其點火延遲、燃燒現象、微爆等等,實驗中使用燃料為n-Hexadecane(C16H34)、n-Heptane(C7H16)、Methanol(CH3OH)和不可燃液滴H2O。利用碰撞的機制使不可溶性液滴(C16H34與H2O及C16H34與CH3OH)之間能在沒有乳化劑的情形下產生結合之液滴,將這結合液滴進入燃燒室觀察其燃燒之情形以暸解不可溶液滴在沒有乳化劑影響下的燃燒情況。另比較可溶液滴(C16H34與C7H16)碰撞與預混之間的差別。
實驗中發現水在不同直徑比例下與C16H34固定直徑碰撞後其燃燒現象大致上有三種情形,一為發生火焰微爆現象,二為火焰熄滅,三為火焰熄滅後再微爆,而甲醇與C16H34碰撞後燃燒則會產生強烈的微爆現象。而在可溶液滴(C16H34與C7H16)在本實驗的條件之下,其碰撞後及預混的燃燒結果及火焰現象是相同的。
