近年來，為了符合世界貿易組織（WTO）之相關規定，財政部頒佈多項政令，以加快金融自由化及國際化的步伐。再加上金融同業間、外商金融，以及新的金融替代產品不斷的推陳出新形成激烈的競爭，許多金融業者的盈餘每況愈下，面臨了經營上嚴重地挑戰。因此如何提供創新服務，以提昇競爭優勢， 為當前金融控股公司所面臨之重大課題。
有鑑於此， 本研究乃針對金控公司探討XML Web服務在金控架構下帳戶整合創新型之應用。 本研究採取個案探索性研究方法。 首先針對個案網站功能進行問題分析; 其次探討建置Web 服務之金融機構之關鍵因素; 最後再針對未來金控公司建置Web服務整合帳戶進行情境及需求分析。
本研究針對國內以XML Web 服務所建立之金融帳戶整合服務之個案進行探討， 根據所獲得的八項關鍵因素， 彙整成下列結論: 高階主管的支持; 健全的資料庫及完整的交易系統; 交叉銷售部門人員適合擔任主導的地位; 參與發展Web 服務的資訊部門人員及交叉銷售部門人員必須具備良好的金控業務與良好的電腦相關知識; 資料擷取(後台作業)的部份應該由金控本身資訊部門自行發展;「預測」在交叉銷售中相當重要， 但Web 服務較無提供此項分析工具之必要; 使用Web 服務之後將會提高交叉銷售流程的標準化程度等。 最後我們也針對金控公司提出帳戶整合服務之情境與需求分析， 以作為未來金控公司建置帳戶整合服務之參考。
