近年來,無線網路的應用已漸漸普及,其中不需要固定設施的無線隨意網路環境提供了我們更方便的選擇。目前在無線隨意網路上已有許多的相關研究,大多數的相關研究都針對於繞路協定的設計。現今大多數的應用程式都需要可靠、端點對端點的傳輸層協定,而TCP是目前使用最廣泛的傳輸層協定。
本論文最主要在探討無線隨意網路中TCP的效能,在無線隨意網路中,TCP效能會受到無線網路環境的影響及限制,造成效能的下降,而最主要的原因在於網路中節點的移動會造成路徑的錯誤,使得封包遺失率增加,並且這些封包的遺失都造成TCP傳送端的緩慢啟動,由於TCP傳送端無法區分封包遺失的主要原因,而造成TCP的效能受到影響。
我們在網路層使用DSR繞路演算法來尋找路徑,本文將探討DSR中過期路徑資訊對TCP效能造成的影響,另一方面,本文將利用精確通告的方法來增進無線隨意網路的TCP效能。透過模擬,來驗證我們的方法是否可行。

Recently, the wireless networks are becoming popular. The mobile ad hoc networks, which not need the fixed infrastructure, provide us with more convenient environment in wireless data communication. Much research has focused on the routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks.
In this paper, we investigate the cause of degraded TCP performance in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET). In MANET, the TCP performance is degraded, affected by the limitations and characteristics of wireless networks environment. The major cause of TCP performance degrading is route failure due to node mobility. The packet loss rate is increasing because of frequently route failures. These packet loss will cause TCP sender to invoke congestion control (slow start) due to that the TCP sender can't distinguish the cause of packet loss.
We use the DSR routing algorithm as routing protocol and investigate the stale route problem in DSR which can affected the TCP performance significantly. We also proposed the method with explicit notification to improve TCP performance in ad hoc networks. Through simulation, we show that the proposed method can improve TCP performance in ad hoc networks about 20% to 30%.
