  所謂產品,乃是指人們因其特有的屬性和機能而構想、生產、購買、和使用的人工製品;而產品設計則是為了製造一項產品所必須的發明與企劃的過程。由於科技的進步,造成產品的設計過程與產品的製作過程必須分隔開來由不同的專業人員負責。產品設計也同時不再只是單獨一個人的責任。在群體的溝通與合作中,「程序」就成為一件重要的事,而有關於這些設計師所遵循的作業程序的科學研究就是所謂的「設計方法論」。
  在眾多的設計方法中,形態學圖表法算是大家所熟知的一種方法 , 同時它的運用也非常的廣泛;但是形態學圖表法具有一個嚴重的缺失,就是最終解未必可行的問題。所以形態學圖表法的運用通常只限定於創意性的思考上,而與實際產品的產出有一段距離,也因如此,在與感性工學或設計文法的整合運用上,也會產生特定的問題。
  針對這個缺失,本研究試圖由組裝的角度去設法解決形態學圖表法最終解不可行的問題;而經過對形態學圖表法的實際操作後,本研究得到一個方法運用上的新程序,同時使用通用化後的規則做一些運用程序上的判斷,並在研究的最後,以新的目標產品加以驗證。
  本研究最終成果得到八個操作步驟,在這八個步驟中可以把形態學圖表中的功能特徵群分類成「結合功能」與「其他功能」,並根據所分類出的功能特徵分別作提案組合可行性的探討。
  Products are man-made artifacts which people construct, manufacture, commerce and use. The design of products is a inventing and planning process for making a product. Because of the development of technology, we need to distinguish the design of products from the making of products. The designs of products, moreover, are not only one person's responsibility. Around the groups' communication and cooperating, "processes" becomes an important thing, and the researches of designing processes which designers follow are in the field of "design methods."
  Around the plenty of design methods, morphological chart is a well know one. In additions, the using of morphological chart is common to designers. The morphological chart has a serious drawback which is the problem of unachievable solutions can not be removed. So, the using of morphological chart usually limits to the creative thinking and the outcome can not be applied to the real problems. Therefore, it has some problems to integrate with the Kansei Engineering and the design grammar approach.
  For solving such a problem, this research using the structure's view to improve the traditional morphological chart. By exam the using of morphological chart, we proposed a new process which includes the steps of the traditional morphological chart and several new steps. In Additions, we put decision rules into one of the design stage to make sure all the solutions generated from this approach are feasible. At the least, we applied the new approach on real design problems to show the robustness of such a method.
  As the result of this research, we get eight–step design methoglogy. By using this approach, we can separate the functions of morphological chart into “combine-function” and “other-function”. Designers can apply this approach to generage design solutions by combining alternative solutions of each function. The feasibility of solutions can be preserved.
