本文是一關乎建築理論的研究,更確切而言,是一種對建築理論的重建。謂之重建,並非在於提出一個新的理論,而是意圖指出一種重新探索的可能性。特別是對於建築構造這樣的對象。
傳統的建築取向關心的是形式的表情,而忽略奠基於構造藝術上的本質邏輯,以及其所關乎的營造之生產條件。面對這樣的疑旨,本文意圖澄明的是,即使營造並非駐足於人類之最初的、知覺的及最後發展的敏感性中,但它其實是與日常生活的論述息息相關。是故,對於建築構造不能只是單獨地考慮其組成的問題,而是必須展開營造生產之實質條件的部署,以做為形式生產的基礎。換言之,建築與構造必須同時地被提及,或者被實踐。而如果不是如此,那麼將只是滿足於表像的空間。
雖然建築總是藉由形式而展現其所為是,但是,這樣的形式應該擁有某種構築上的特殊性;亦即,建築必須是一種透過物質的質料潛在性及觸覺感所產生的特殊形貌,並且是能夠保有營造本質的建築構造。也唯有如此,才有機會重新建構與物的連接關係,進而重新建構存在的意義。在這樣的狀況下,建築所尋求而設置於一種適當架構中的事物──建築構造──不全然是隸屬於美學,或只是純粹技術性的範疇;它其實是更指涉著倫理的關係。而這樣的倫理關係不只是營造構件之構成行為符合寰宇法則的令式,同時也使建築得以實存。
這一存在於營造的思考與行為之間的構成倫理,意味著構成行為的主體性必須是歸結至營造者之活動的意圖。而其所關乎的製作行為應該同時將建築的生產開放涉入於營建構造之技術知識的創造和想像的可能性。在這樣的意義上,製作行為並非是意指為一種工具的手段,而是以它本身做為營造生產的對象。對所有營造論述中的技術而言,它皆明顯地擁有其特別的規範系統,並且橫跨了時間的變化,以及控制其實踐和實踐對象的關係。這其實也意味著技術在知識範疇的理念與觀點中必須被關照。尤其是,技術的定義必須在理論與哲學的命題中被考慮。
總結對於建築構造之要旨──構成、倫理、製作與技術──的分析可發現,這些要旨其實是指涉著人類建構其生活空間所在的物質基礎,以及其進行空間建構的知識實踐;它們並非是順從於先驗的建築風格及樣式,而是關乎一種庇護本質的日常性之論述的形構。
The thesis refers to a research of theory that is a reconstructive theory precisely. The thesis does not aim to address a new theory, but attempts to indicate a possibility of re-discovery. In particular, it involves with architectural construction.
The traditional approach of architecture has concerned the appearance of form, thus ignored the essential logic of the constructional art and with reference to the production of building. To confront the problematic, the study would attempt to clarify that the building is not in the sensitivities of initial, perceptive and final development, but it is with relation to the discourse of everyday life. Therefore, the architectural construction could not only concern the aspects of composition, but should unfold the substantial development of production. In other words, architecture and building must be brought up, or practiced together. If it is not like that, the architectural production only satisfies the representational space.
Though the architecture always shows it is by form, but the form should contain a essence of the tectonics, that is, the architecture must be produced a special figuration through the potential of matter and the hapticity, and remain the built essence of architectural construction. Then we just have opportunity to restructure the connection with the material and the meaning of existence. In the condition, it is architectural construction that is discovered to set a thing by the architecture in the proper framework. And, the architectural construction does not entirely subordinate to the aesthetics, or only purely technical scope, it refers to the ethics of constitution in fact. Such the imperative of ethics makes the constitutional act of constructive parts conform to cosmic law, also makes the architecture exist.
The ethics of constitution that exists between the thinking and building act, implies the subjectivity of constitutional act must refers to the intention of builder’s activity. The act of making that relates to intention should make the architectural production open with reference to the possibility of creation and imagination of constructional technology knowledge. In the sense, The act of making does not intend to a means of instrument, but as the object of production in itself. For the technologies in all building discourses, they obviously have the special normative system, and cross the change of time and control the relationship of the practice and the practical object. It actually also implies that the technology must concern in idea and view of the sphere of knowledge. In particular, the definition of technology has to be concerned in the proposition of theory and philosophy.
Sum up the themes of architectural construction—constitution, ethics, making and technology, we could understand these themes that actually refer to material base and the practical knowledge of the construction of space. They do not submit to a priori style and type of architecture, but in reference to essence of the shelter that is a formation of discursive practice of everydayness.
