  圖學和影像大量的應用在日常生活中甚至也用於醫學方面,其中texture mapping是很重要的一環,texture mapping是為了使物體看起來更真實,但要做texture mapping就必須做一個攤平的動作,而本論文最主要的目的就是提出一個攤平的方法並將之用於貼圖、醫學或變形上。

  本論文的攤平方法主要是以3D距離的倒數當權重利用力的觀念來做,共分成三個步驟,第一個步驟是求出物體攤平後的邊界,第二個步驟是做一個refinement的動作,最後做一個smooth,並以統計圖來說明攤平結果的好壞,而評估的方式是考慮其三維與二維物體間的長度與角度的縮放比例是否一致。

  我們將攤平的技術用在大腸的切割上,並以不同的著色方式來呈現可能是腫塊的地方,並且利用volume rendering的方式一層一層觀察表皮底下的情形,因為屬於真正腫塊的部位與正常部位其值是有某個差異的,以彌補可能會誤判的情形例如其實表面凸起來的地方可能只是彎曲的地方,增加其判斷的準確度,此外我們的攤平方法也可以應用在做變形前的切patch上,有關應用的部分皆在第四章討論。
  Texture mapping is a technique commonly used in computer graphics to generate realistic and visually rich images, by putting each object in correspondence with a 2D image. Our goal is to do non-distortion texture mapping.

  This paper describes a method for flattening of 3D surface, leading to a distortion-less texture mapping. In addition, our method does not require the two-dimensional boundary to be predefined. It mainly consists of three steps: The first step of our method minimizes the length distortion, the second minimizes the angular distortion, and the third is mesh smoothing. Finally, we express its robustness by the figures of standard deviation.

  The proposed scheme has several advantages. First, it is easy to implement. Second, it does not require the two-dimensional boundary to be predefined. Third, our algorithm is a sparse linear system and solutions can be evaluated from sparse matrix. The proposed approach is faster than greedy method in experimental. Forth, the distortion is smaller for some models. Finally, the method can be applied on other fields.
