無線網路是目前網路研究發展的重要方向,無線網路提供了與以往有線網路最大不同的地方在於:無線網路不再侷限使用者必須在使用網路的時候必須停留在同一個地點,相反的,使用者可以在使用網路的時候任意移動,為了達到使用中可以移動的效果,除了需要新的硬體設備支援,同時也需要有新的網路協定根據無線網路的特性來負責處理無線網路上的各種封包傳輸以及封包傳送路徑尋找的問題。
目前使用在wireless上的通訊協定中,以Mobile IP最為人所知,Mobile IP可以讓使用者在使用網路的同時移動自己的位置,但是Mobile IP並不擅長於處理使用者快速移動的情形,為了解決這個問題,於是提出了Cellular IP,Cellular IP對於使用者的快速移動處理效果比Mobile IP來的好,但是我們認為Cellular IP在處理 Internal traffic的方式會造成不必要的頻寬浪費,所以我們提出了改善的方法。
在本論文中,我們將介紹一個稱為DMT的分散式架構來改善Cellular IP的Internal traffic傳送方式,並且利用DMT的架構發展出可以應用在Cellular IP上的multicast 協定:MTMP,另外,為了對照MTMP的效能,我們也提出了兩個可用於Cellular IP上的multicast協定:GBMP以及GBMP-RO,最後,我們也以模擬程式的方式展示出DMT在unicast以及multicast傳輸方面的效能以及封包流量的平均分散上,都能達到比原來Cellular IP更好的效能。
