B型抗諧振反射光波導(ARROW-B)表面電漿子共振(SPR)感測元件已經被探討。然而,用來支持表面電漿波(SPW)的金薄膜層與二氧化矽光波導核心層的黏著並不佳,可能導致結構的不穩定。因此,以鉻為材料的緩衝層被用來鍍於這兩層材料之間以增加他們的黏著性。本論文探討這層緩衝層對表面電漿子共振感測元件的影響,並且利用覆蓋層之調整的方法使元件於操作於水中環境時得到最佳化。結果,可得到高達3.7×10-5的感測度。此外,還探討了元件參數變化對此感測元件特性之影響。元件對於第一層覆蓋層、第二層覆蓋層還有核心層厚度與折射率變化的容忍度分別都有討論。
