搜索理論緣起於二次世界大戰,美海軍為有效反制德軍潛艦而建立其架構,而發展迄今已逾五十餘年,其間依研究方向不同,其研究領域橫跨物理、電子、機械、資訊系統、作業研究等等。而應用的範圍除軍事用途外,亦涵蓋商業、社會、醫療研究等等。
而本研究僅就作業研究之角度,嘗試解決當目標形態為靜態之標的物,如何在資源受限的情形下,有效的配置其資源於各目標可能存在的區域,而使得搜尋目標的機率極大。
同時,亦考量倘若所欲搜索的區域,可能存在數個,無法用一般搜索感應器,辦視所接觸的目標,是否為吾人所欲搜索之標的狀況下,如何建立其最適搜索決策模式,並以一例說明其決策過程。
而本研究所建立之模式,可適用於搜索所有靜態目標屬性之行動,例如搜索沈船、探索海底礦源等目的。

The initial development of search theory was made by U.S.Navy during the World WarⅡto provide efficient method of detecting German submarines.
Since the ending of war, depending on the diversity of reseach scope, the theory contain differential knowledges which include Physics, Electronic, Information System, Operation Research and the areas of application include social problam solution, marketing allocation and medical screening.
In this research, we focus on the searching problem While the resourses are restricted, we attemp to gain the optimal resourse allocation if targets status were stationary.and under this allocation can be found the maximun probability
Furthermore, we attemp to setting up the model when the search areas contain several false targets we cannot identify the contact directly in regular sensors.
The model can apply to the search action such as exploring sunken ships and locating the mineral under the sea.
